Today is 9/11 and like everyone else I am remembering seven years ago. I lived in NYC then and I remember trying to get in contact with a few friends that day. I found them all, thankfully.
I'd also like to say that I'm sure Sen. Obama talked about his economic policies and his education policies in that speech, but all the media chose to show us was the "pig" quote. Shame on them.

I want to hear more about you HBO experience. You told me a little yesterday about where the shoot took place. Tell us more about the day itself--what was it like? Was there a lot of waiting around? How many takes? Did they do your makeup? Do they pay you by the hour? Did you see or meet any famous actors? etc. It sounds like it was a lot of fun!
It was a lot of fun, but there was a lot of waiting around. We were shooting a garden party scene. The principle actors of course had lines to say etc. They shot it from a bunch of different angles many times each and the background action (us) had to be the same each time. So I picked up my wine glass, took a chocolate off a tray said hello to the same person who walked by, etc, dozens of times. Then you had to put the chocolate back, set down the wine, go back to the starting position and do it again. You had to pretend to talk to the people around you, but you couldn't make any noise when the cameras were rolling.
We were told to arrive "camera ready," meaning hair and makeup done. We all brought several changes of clothes and the wardrobe people picked which outfit they wanted us to wear.
Yep, paid by the hour. It was basically minimum wage, but we stayed long enough to get overtime. We did get breakfast and lunch, and they were both outstanding.
The principle actors were Thomas Jane (I knew him from 61*) and Eddie Jemison (Ocean's 11, 12, etc.) It's an untitled pilot, so it may never see the light of day.
I had a good time, so I hope I can do it again. It was a nice break from Ford and it's something to put on the resume.
